Job Description

  • This role will be an evolving role with changing responsibilities as you learn about the industry and grow within the company. At first, the incumbent will shadow current Technical Sales & Service Representatives to get an understanding of the industry as well as some of the day-to-day tasks.
  • Initial tasks will consist of assisting service representatives by collecting chemical solution samples from customer locations & assisting the laboratory staff by performing routine lab analysis. The analysis of chemical solutions often leads to additional technical service & sales opportunities in the field.
  • This role will eventually lead to trouble-shooting customer electroplating processes with opportunities to work in the lab at a Research and Development capacity. As our customer’s needs change this provides opportunities for Dynamix Inc. to develop new products to meet those needs.
  • As this role advances there will be opportunity to “specialize” in certain areas of the business and become the resident expert in that area. The incumbent will need to have initiative and the desire to learn and apply that knowledge in the lab or the field.
  • There will be travel to visit customer sites within Ontario and minimal overnight travel (~5% of your time.)
  • There will be some miscellaneous duties (i.e. physical inventory count, delivering product, etc.) as needed.

Minimum Qualifications

  • Must be proficient in the English language, both verbal & written communication skills
  • Post-secondary education – B.Sc. preferably in a Chemistry/Science/Engineering field but will accept Tech Degree/Diploma or suitable training
  • 3-5 years of experience in a laboratory environment, in a chemical manufacturing capacity and/or in the metal finishing industry.
  • Knowledge of technical service and sales in waste water treatment processes would an asset. This would include heavy metal removal through hydroxide precipitation, chromium reduction, cyanide destruction, familiarity with jar testing procedures, awareness of common sanitary sewer discharge requirements etc.
  • Strong technical aptitude, interpersonal skills, and problem-solving ability
  • Demonstrated flexibility to adapt and adjust your day to assist customers in this fast paced, multi-tasking environment.
  • Ability to work successfully as part of a team while also delivering independent results.
  • Ability to develop excellent Customer relationships is key!
  • Safe work practices and close attention to detail is paramount in the handling and analysis of chemicals and laboratory equipment.
  • Must have Valid Driver’s Licence and acceptable motor vehicle record
